So, um, have you found yourself obsessing over Margot’s fashion (and *ahem* Ryan Gosling) in the recent Barbie movie? Because we’re totally in L-O-V-E. We spent the whole movie lusting over every Barbie-inspired look, and we’ve also been thinking about the fact that we need to add way more pink to our wardrobes (and hey, possibly even more than we currently have to our Bon Maxie lineup).
Naturally, we thought we’d put our Barbie obsession to good use, so we’ve recreated some of Barbie’s best outfits and thrown together a bunch of Barbiecore looks featuring a few of your fave Bon Maxie bags and other organisation essentials.
Gingham Barbie
This is by FAR our favourite Barbie look. The daisy chain jewellery, the cute pump heels, the baby pink gingham dress… it’s all just so… perfect. It’s Barbie fashion at its best.
For this look, we’ve gone with an easy breezy summer dress, pink pumps that scream Barbiecore, and the most stunning necklace and earring set from Pandora, finished off with the Neon Pink Gingham Tote Bag. Swimsuit Barbie
We may or may not have screamed into our popcorn when this look came on screen. This 1950s swimsuit is literally one of Barbie’s most iconic fashion pieces, and for good reason too.
To recreate this look (outside of the pool), we’ve gone with a dress in the same pattern, some classic cat eye sunnies (which can obvs be housed in our Easy-Squeezy Glasses Case), big gold hoops (which you can comfortably store on our Easy-Drop Earring Holder), and some comfy mules, paired with the black Sidekick Crossbody Bag. Plaid Barbie
Okay, this was a real ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ moment, but Barbie and Ken riding through the tulips in their matching plaid sets were just too adorable for us to leave out. It’s also the perfect Europe vibe for any of us who have missed out on a Europe summer this year *insert dramatic tears*.
For this Barbie-inspired outfit, we’ve chosen some brown cotton shorts, the most gorgeous leather boots, a flannel shirt, and a soft wool jumper that Barbie herself would be jealous of. Top it all off with the Go! Crossbody Bag in Neon Pink, perfect for sightseeing and running (or biking) around.
Cowgirl Barbie
This is one Barbie we would’ve loved as kids (though we’re not entirely sure she even existed?). There’s just something about cowboy boots, y’know?
To create this Barbie-inspired look, we’ve gone with some hot pink flares and a waistcoat, paired with the most amazing cowboy boots and a cowgirl hat. Add the Neon Pink Mini Accomplice Shoulder Bag and you’re ready for whatever life throws at you.
